XBOX 360

The XBOX 360 is the successor to the original Xbox gaming console produced by Microsoft. So far over 28 million units have been sold worldwide and is only 6 million units behind the Nintendo Wii. The fact that Microsoft has dropped it’s price quite a lot in the past year has really enticed gamers to choose the Xbox 360 over the Playstation 3 console. The Xbox 360 is known for having top quality graphics as with the Playstation 3 whereas the Nintendo Wii has lackluster graphics but is phenomenal for interactivity.

The Xbox 360 was launched in 2005 on November 22 and was available to the United States as well as Canada and then was made available to Europe on December 2nd 2005. Japan saw the release of Xbox only two weeks after the launch in North America when it was launched on December 10th, 2005.

The most popular game released for the Xbox 360 console is Halo 3 with an astounding 8.1 million units sold. The console itself is sold in three different formats including the Xbox 360 Arcade package, Xbox 360 Pro and Xbox 360 Elite which has a bigger hard drive then the other two editions, in fact the level entry Xbox comes with just 256 MB of memory. Upon initial launch the Xbox 360 Pro came with a 20 GB hard drive and the Elite system came with a 60GB hard drive. Currently the Pro version now comes with a 60GB hard drive and the Elite version now comes with a 120 GB hard drive.
